Fun Friday Recipes!

Fun Friday Recipes!!

Mike and I, as some of you know have VERY busy schedules.  Most nights we are sorting, pricing, or picking up new finds for the store or the Flea Markets, which leaves very little time to actually have a home cooked meal.  Here are some of our favorite quick comforting dinners!!

All of these we have tried and added to the list!!

Have a great weekend!!  We will be at the Orange Flea this weekend.  Stop by and check it out.  It’s a cool little flea, with awesome dealers and GREAT deals!!

Mannequins!!

Since our recent purchase of the Mannequins, I wanted to learn more about then, and find some creative ideas for them.  I am now, totally in love with them, and plan to keep at least one.. ssshhh… don’t tell Mike – He doesn’t know yet.

First, mannequins have been used since as early as 1350 BC.  WHAT!!??  Can you imagine walking into King Tut’s tomb and see a mannequin next to his clothes chest? Mannequins seem to have gained popularity in the beginning of the 19th century when marketing and plate glass store front windows became more popular. They have been produced in every shape and color and made out of everything from paper to clay.

Our lovely ladies are made by Bernstein and manufactured in New York.  They are plastic based with a muslin type fabric overlay.  All of them have a wooden platform base and stand which is removable.  I think mine will sit on top of the piano.

Here are a few ideas I found interesting, now I just need to narrow down my options!!

Here are a few pictures of the ones in our store!!

I am drawn to the mosaic!  Any thoughts or advice would be welcomed!!

Teacups!!

I find myself drawn to teacups!  They are each as unique and individual as a fingerprint and hold history and beauty.  The problem with my current obsession is what does one do with a teacup, when the only tea I drink is the iced kind.

Here are a few examples of out of the box ideas for those teacups which shouldn’t be tucked away in Grandma’s cabinet, or those with a little chip:

In this blog, we hope to keep everyone in the loop as to what's in the store and ideas which might work perfect for that vintage treasure you love, but don't know where you would put it.  As you can see - Teacups can go anywhere!!
